Coronavirus

Dear Village Medical Center Family,

As our patient, your well-being is our highest priority. We have been closely monitoring the respiratory illness caused by a new Coronavirus (COVID-19). We want to update you with the measures we have taken to prepare our office.

We are currently screening our patients with fever and respiratory symptoms for high risk travel and/or possible COVID-19 exposure and are scheduling those patients for virtual visits out of an abundance of precaution.

We ask that if you have fever and/or cough/shortness of breath, or have recently traveled to an area with an active COVID-19 outbreak or have been exposed to someone with COVID 19 or suspected to have COVID-19, please contact the office before coming in so we can schedule you for a virtual visit.

We are also glad to schedule a virtual visit to discuss if you have questions or concerns regarding COVID-19 that you want to discuss with your provider even if you are currently well.

Most insurances, including Medicare and Aetna, are now covering virtual visits.

At this time, we are also asking all our patients with a cough, even without history of travel or known exposure, to wear a mask when in the office for the protection of our more at-risk patients. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

A list of frequently asked questions can be found here. This information is per the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). We recommend following their website for updated information about this evolving situation.

We recommend continuing everyday prevention to stop the spread of germs (wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces).

Beginning Tuesday, March 24th, we will be offering Well Hour appointments between 7AM – 9AM. During this time, no sick visits (cough, fever, etc.) will be scheduled. This will be an opportunity for our chronic care patients to have labs drawn and to see their provider without concern of exposure. If you are unable to be seen during our Well Hours, we can see you virtually at another time for most appointments other than annual physicals.

If you have any other questions, please contact our office.

Best of Health,
